It's so funny that you post this because when I was brainstorming for my week 1 paper on Poetry and Imagination I immediately decided my poem I would choose would be "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". I am looking forward to exploring this poem and explaining the reason I chose this poem. This poem is madly famous and I would say most parents or teachers have read this to their children even way, way before our time! This poem in particular stimulates children's imagination. As an aspiring teacher I plan to bring poems like this into the classroom often and freely. I really think poems like this encourage creative thinking in children and help us build a love for reading from a young age. Poetry creates a natural curiosity in children and that is so wonderful to me.
